> Dances at Eurasia I am happy to see that freestyle is rapidly gaining popularity. On the Defender day (23 February) a freestyle show took place at Eurasia-2002 and attracted many spectators. Those who haven't been there can get some notion by clicking the photo on the left. You will see the Matador Dance by Irina Troshina and Slide (Rottweiler) (Sokolniki dog training club), the Russian dance by Marina Serova and Shanie (Border Collie) (Together agility club) and a Latin-American dance by Polina Ilyina and Flint (Malinois) (Pervomaisky dog training club).

Of course, the title of this page, which implies Freestyle, Flyball and Frisbie, is rather relative. In reality, this page is dedicated to various kinds of leisure training.

Leisure training (this term was invented by A.Gility) is any training which is not aimed at preparing the dog to some work. The point of leisure training is the training process itself, which is a great pleasure to the dog (first of all) and its owner. Being involved in a typical kind of leisure training, Agility people understand this very well. However, the imagination of a dog fancier is inexhaustible, and he will always look for some entertainment for himself and his best friend. In Russia, leisure training is just emerging and can't be compared to work training in terms of popularity. But the popularity comes with time, and more and more clubs and individuals become interested in leisure training. My favourite agilityist show their agility in this sphere as well - they somehow find time for running, for dancing, and for many other things…
